Welcome to the Stump Family Tree
In the depths of time, this surname was thought to have come from Germany, where it means the roughly the same as in English - the stump of a tree.
This Stump family seems to have originated in Wiltshire, England and doesn't seem to have had any urge to move elsewhere. It's from here that some of the family marry into the Sumner family, and others.
